Olympian Bharat Chetri appreciates the bonding in women's team, says this is the major change

Former Olympian goalkeeper, Bharat Chetri was the goalkeeping coach of the senior Indian women's team for three years from 2016 to 2018. Today he sounded elated with Indian women's momentous victory in the inaugural FIH Nation's Cup where Indian girls trounced fancy Spain by a fifth-minute solitary goal struck by Gurjit Kaur, the only drag-flicker (penalty-corner specialist) in Indian women's team. Indian women had to play with 10 women after Udita was suspended for two minutes. Earlier this year, Indian women finished at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games with a bronze medal.

Bharat commenting on the team's success from his residence at Kalimpong said, "The major change I watched in the Indian women's game in the championship was an excellent understanding between the players. I became delighted to watch all the players of the Indian team moving up and down continuously. This has been the major change in their style of play where forwards are falling back to support the defense while the defenders are moving upfront, supporting in the counter-attacks." 

Chetri who was the captain of the men's team in the 2012 London Olympics reminded saying, "During our association with the Indian women's team we always tried to explain to the players about this bonding. Today I am truly happy to have seen this in their style of play."

Chetri also had praise for Gurjit Kaur, the drag-flicker in the Indian women's team whose lone goal in the final helped India to clinch the title. Chetri said, "I still remember Gurjit requested me to ask Savita Punia, the captain and first-goalkeeper of the Indian women's squad to take a position under the bars even after the completion of the team's training and practiced drag-flicking for around 45 minutes. Naturally, she has matured her drag-flicking skill and getting the result."

Now Indian women's squad does not have any goalkeeping coach. Bharat opined, "I must say, all the national teams starting from sub-junior to the senior category must have specialist coaches in all segments. They should have coaches for goalkeepers, forwards, defenders, and even midfielders. Along with these specialist coaches, there should be a chief coach who will coordinate with the specialist coaches. Then only the performance of the teams will reach the highest standard and it will be consistent."

মেসি না এমব্যাপে। আলভারেজ না অলিভিয়ের জিহু। টানা দু'বার বিশ্বকাপ জিতে ফ্রান্স ইতিহাস গড়বে না ৩৬ বছর আর্জেন্তিনার অধরা স্বপ্নপূরণ হবে বিশ্বকাপ জিতে। এই নিয়ে গত দু'দিন ধরে ফুটবলবিশ্ব উত্তাল। কিন্তুও তিনিও তো নিঃশব্দে এক অনন্য কীর্তির সামনে! প্রচারমাধ্যমের সার্চলাইট সাধারণত কোচদের ওপর পড়ে না। তাই তার কীর্তির কথাও ফুটবল পাগলের কান পর্যন্ত পৌঁছয়নি। 

তিনি দিদিয়ে দেশঁ। ২০১৮-র বিশ্বকাপ চ্যাম্পিয়ন ফ্রান্সের কোচ। আজ, রবিবার কাতারের লুসাইল স্টেডিয়ামে বিশ্বকাপের ফাইনালে যদি ফ্রান্স শেষ হাসি হাসে তাহলে এই ফুটবলবিশ্বে দেশঁ হবেন তৃতীয় মানুষ যিনি ফুটবলার হিসেবে একবার আর কোচ হিসেবে দু'বার বিশ্বকাপ জিতবেন! দেশঁ-র আগের দুটো নাম, ফ্রানজ বেকেনবাওয়ার এবং ব্রাজিলের মারিও জাগালো। কিন্তু এই দু'জনের কেউই কোচ হয়ে দু'বার বিশ্বকাপ জেতেননি। 

২০১৯ থেকে ২০২৩ পর্যন্ত ফ্রান্স জাতীয় দলের সঙ্গে চুক্তিবদ্ধ দিদিয়ের দেশঁ। প্রত্যেক বছর তার মাইনে ভারতীয় মূদ্রায় ৩২ কোটি ১৬ লক্ষ টাকা! কিন্তু চুক্তি পুনর্নবীকরণ এখনও পর্যন্ত হয়নি। ২০১২-য় ঘোর দুঃসময়ের মধ্যে দিয়ে যাওয়া ফ্রান্সের জাতীয় দলের দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার পর থেকে এখনও পর্যন্ত গত দশ বছরে প্রথমবার যে দেশের জাতীয় ফটবল সংস্থা দেশঁ-র সঙ্গে চুক্তি পুনর্নবীকরণ করেনি। তাতে কী হল! বিচলিত হওয়ার প্রশ্ন নেই। ফ্রান্সের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় দৈনিক 'লা ক্রক্স'-এর সাংবাদিক ফেলিসিয়ে রদেঁ-কে শনিবারের প্র্যাক্টিসের পর দেশঁ বলেছেন, "রবিবারের ফাইনালটা নিয়ে শুধু ভাবছি।" 

বিচলিত হবেনই বা কেন? কী গৌরবময় কর্মজীবন তার! ফুটবলার হয়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স লিগ, ফরাসি কাপ, ১৯৯৮-এ বিশ্বকাপ জেতা, তারপর কোচ দু'দুবার বিশ্বজয়ী হওয়ার দোরগোড়ায় তিনি। এমনকী, ক্লাব পর্যায়েও মোনাকোকে, কম বাজেটের দল থাকা সত্বেও চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স লিগের ফাইনালে (২০০৪) পৌঁছে দেওয়ার অনন্য কৃতিত্ব তার ঝুলিতে।

তার ফুটবল জীবন শুরু হয়েছিল স্ট্রাইকার হয়ে। তারপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত হলেন ডিফেন্সিভ মিডফিল্ডার হিসেবে। এরিক কাঁতোনা তাকে ডাকতেন 'ওয়াটার ক্যারিয়ার' বলে! কারণ বিপক্ষের প্রতি আক্রমণকে মাঝমাঠেই দুর্দান্ত দক্ষতায় থামিয়ে দলের আক্রমণ তৈরি করার জন্য। আঁতোয়া গ্রিজম্যানকে এই বিশ্বকাপে দেখে বোঝা যাচ্ছে? কী অসাধারণ দক্ষতায় বিপক্ষের প্রতিআক্রমণের সময় তাদের পা থেকে বল স্ন্যাচ করছেন! এবং সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তৈরি করছেন দলের আক্রমণ। দেশঁ-র মত তিনিও এই বিশ্বকাপে 'ওয়াটার ক্যারিয়ার' হয়ে উঠেছেন দেশঁ-র-ই মন্ত্রে! 

আজ রবিবার যদি কোচ দেশঁ-র ঝুলিতে তৃতীয় বিশ্বকাপটা আসে তাহলে ফুটবলার এবং কোচ-দুইয়ে মিলিয়ে দেশঁ ছোঁবেন পেলে-র তিনবার বিশ্বকাপ জয়কেও! রদেঁ-র লেখায় জানা গিয়েছে, 'চোয়াল শক্ত হয়ে গিয়েছিল দেশঁ-র ফাইনাল নিয়ে কথা বলার প্রসঙ্গে। বলেছেন, "মাঠে কবিতা লিখতে চাই না, একটা ভাল গদ্য লেখা হোক যা আমাদের কাপটা আবার রাখতে সাহায্য করবে।" আর কোচ দেশঁ-র বিশেষত্ব? নিজেই জানিয়েছেন ফরাসি সাংবাদিককে। "কোনও বিশেষ ছক নেই আমাদের খেলায়। ছক ওরা খেলতে খেলতেই তৈরি করবে। আমার কাজ একটাই, মাঠেও যাতে ১১জনের নিজেদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক বিশ্বাস আর বন্ধুত্বটা থাকে সেটা তৈরি করে দেওয়া, খেলা চলাকালীন তার ওপর নজর রাখা!"

রবিবারই জীবনের শেষ বিশ্বকাপ ম্যাচ, জানিয়ে দিলেন মেসি

ড্রেসিংরুমে ঢুকে যাওয়ার ঠিক আগের মূর্হুত। তিনি তার দেশের সাংবাদিক, গ্যালারির সবচেয়ে কাছে থাকা আর্জেন্তিনীয় সমর্থকদের উদ্দেশে হাত নাড়ছেন। মিক্সড-জোনে সাংবাদিকদের মধ্যেই রয়েছেন তার ঘনিষ্ঠতম সাংবাদিকদের একজন, হার্নান ক্লজ। আর্জেন্তিনার অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় ক্রীড়া দৈনিক ওলে-র সিনিয়র ফুটবল সাংবাদিক। এই বিশ্বকাপে গ্রুপ লিগের প্রথম ম্যাচে সৌদি আরবের বিরুদ্ধে দলের অপ্রত্যাশিত হারের পর একমাত্র তার সঙ্গেই কথা বলেছিলেন তিনি। 

মঙ্গলবার গভীর রাতে (ভারতীয় সময় রাত আড়াইটে) দেশকে বিশ্বকাপে ষষ্ঠবার ফাইনালে নিয়ে যাওয়ার পর সীমাহীনের উচ্ছ্বাসের মধ্যেও তার ব্যতিক্রম হল না। হার্নান ক্লজকে একান্তে ডেকে নিলেন লিওনেল মেসি। ছোট কিন্তু একান্ত একটি সাক্ষাৎকার। কিন্তু কী আশ্চর্য! ক্লজ লিখে ফেলেছেন, "মেসির হাত নেড়ে ড্রেসিংরুমে ঢুকে যাওয়ার সময় তাকিয়ে ছিলাম গ্যালারির দর্শক, আর আমার সতীর্থ সাংবাদিকদের দিকে। মেসি হাসছেন। আমাদের চোখে আনন্দাশ্রু!" সাংবাদিকরা আগেই জানতেন। তাদের মাধ্যমে দেশের ফুটবল পাগলরাও ইতিমধ্যে জেনে ফেলেছেন। ক্লজকে সরকারিভাবে বলেই দিলেন, আর নয়। রবিবারই জীবনের শেষ বিশ্বকাপের ম্যাচ হতে চলেছে তার।" 

একটা মহারাজকীয় বিদায়ের ছবি এখন থেকেই আঁকার চেষ্টা হবে। তার টিম ম্যানেজমেন্ট এবং দেশের ফুটবল ফেডারেশনও হয়ত সক্রিয় হয়ে উঠবে এই বিষয়ে। কাতারে হয়ত উড়িয়ে আনা হবে আন্তোনেল্লা ও তাদের সন্তানদের। ফাইনালের ফল যাই হোক না কেন, বিপক্ষের ফুটবলাররা হয়ত ম্যাচের শেষে বিশ্বফুটবলের অন্যতম শ্রেষ্ঠ ফুটবলারকে গার্ড-অফ-অনার দেওয়ার জন্য লাইন করে দাঁড়াবেন! ম্যাচের শেষে ফিফার প্রেসিডেন্ট-সহ অন্যান্য কর্তাদের মধ্যেও মেসির জন্য ফুলের তোড়া নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকার হিড়িক পরে যেতে পারে।

তবে ক্লজের কথায়, মেসির ভাবনায় এখন শুধু ফাইনাল, আর কিছু নয়। বিশ্বকাপের মত রাজসূয় যজ্ঞে শেষবারের মত 'জাস্টিস' চাইছেন তিনি! প্রথম এবং শেষবারের মত বিশ্বকাপ জিতে রবিবার লুসাইল স্টেডিয়াম থেকে রাজকীয় বিদায়ের ছবিটা তিনি নিজেই যে আঁকতে চাইবেন সে বিষয়ে সন্দেহ নেই। আর ক্রোয়েশিয়ার বিরুদ্ধে তিন গোলে জয়ের ম্যাচ নিয়ে মেসির বিশ্লেষণ? ক্লজের কাছে উচ্ছ্বসিত প্রশংসা করেছেন জুলিয়ান আলভারেজের। মঙ্গলবার দলের তিন গোলে যার দুটো গোল। তার মধ্যে নিজের দ্বিতীয় গোলটা আর্কাইভে ঢুকে পড়তে পারে! অসমান মাঠে বল বাউন্স করছিল। তার মধ্যে প্রায় ৪০ গজের এক অবিশ্বাস্য দৌড়। সঙ্গে বল আর তছনছ ক্রোয়েশিয়ার মাঝমাঠ ও এমনকী রক্ষণও। মেসি বলেছেন, "অসাধারণ খেলেছে আলভারেজ। ওই ক্রোয়েশিয়াকে ভেঙেছে। আমরা অনুপ্রাণিত হয়েছি ওকে দেখে।" ২০১৪-র ব্রাজিল বিশ্বকাপের ফাইনালের আগের দিন এই আলভারেজই আর্জেন্তিনার প্র্যাক্টিস দেখতে গিয়ে লাইনের ধারে ঠায় দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন! মেসির একটা অটোগ্রাফ নেওয়ার জন্য। বয়স মাত্র ২২ বছর। জহুরী পেপ গুয়ার্দিওলার চিনতে ভুল হয়নি আর্জেন্তিনীয় স্ট্রাইকারকে। ম্যাঞ্চেস্টার সিটি-তে সই করানোর পরই পেপ বলেছিলেন বিশ্বফুটবলে এসে গিয়েছে এক নতুন হীরে! মঙ্গলবার রাতে সেই হীরের দ্যুতি দেখল ফুটবলবিশ্ব। 

কোচ স্কালোনির প্রশংসাও মেসির মুখে। ক্লজযে বলেছেন তিনি, "রক্ষণ এবং মাঝমাঠের বোঝাপড়া তার জন্যই তৈরি হয়েছে। যে কারণে ক্রোয়েশিয়া প্রতি আক্রমণ তৈরি করার জন্য ফাঁকা জায়গা পায়নি।"

দোহার এডুকেশন সিটি স্টেডিয়াম তখন ক্রোয়েশিয়াময়। গ্যালারিতে বাঁধভাঙা উচ্ছ্বাস ক্রোটদের মধ্যে। একটু আগে টাই-ব্রেকারে ব্রাজিলকে ছিটকে দিয়ে ২০২২ বিশ্বকাপের শেষ চারে ২০১৮-র বিশ্বকাপের রানার্স-আপ ক্রোয়েশিয়া। আর তিনি, সতীর্থদের উষ্ণতম আলিঙ্গনের মধ্যেই ধীরে ধীরে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছেন মিক্সড-জোনের দিকে। সেখানে অধীর অপেক্ষা বিশ্বের সাংবাদিকদের। 

তিনি ক্রোয়েশিয়ার গোলকিপার দমিনিক লিভাকোভিচ। ২০১৮-তে ও পেনাল্টি বাঁচিয়ে নজর কেড়েছিলেন। কিন্তু এবার তাকে নিয়ে উল্লাসের মাত্রা যেন আরও বেশি! আসলে বিশ্বফুটবলের ইতিহাসে এ-ও বরাবধরের ধারা। ব্রাজিল যার কাছে হারে, তারা চলে আসে আলোচনার কেন্দ্রে। ঠিক সেভাবেই, এখনই, সেমি-ফাইনালের আগেই নায়ক হয়ে উঠেছেন লিভাকোভিচ। জাপানের বিরুদ্ধে টাই-ব্রেকারে বাঁচিয়েছেন তিনটি পেনাল্টি। তারপর নেইমারের ব্রাজিলের বিরুদ্ধেও টাই-ব্রেকারে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি পেনাল্টি বাঁচানো, তার সঙ্গে, ১২০ মিনিটের ম্যাচে (অতিরিক্ত সময় ধরে) অন্তত ১২টা অবিশ্বাস্য সেভ! আমাদের মনে হতে পারে, নেইমার ৬ গজের বক্সে দমিনিকের পায়ে মেরে নিশ্চিত গোল নষ্ট করলেন। কিন্তু তাতে, দমিনিকের এগিয়ে এসে গোলের মুখ ছোট করে দেওয়ার দুর্দান্ত কৃতিত্ব তো কমে না।

মিক্সড-জোনে দমিনিককে কি কেউ প্রশ্ন করতে পেরেছিলেন যে পারফরম্যান্সটা কাকে উৎসর্গ করলেন? ড্যানিয়েলা রোগুজ, জাগ্রেবের এক অগ্রগণ্য মহিলা ক্রীড়াসাংবাদিক। কাতারে গিয়েছেন বিশ্বকাপ কভার করতে। তার লেখায় জানা গেল, দমিনিকের মনে পড়ছিল প্রয়াত দাদুর কথা! ভজমিল লিভাকোভিচ। ব্রেন স্ট্রোক হয়ে যার প্রয়াণ হয়েছে রাশিয়া বিশ্বকাপের আগে। দাদু না থাকলে লিভাকোভিচকে বিশ্বফুটবল পেত না! হয়ত বাস্কেটবল বা ভলিবল খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে তার নাম হত।

জাদারে জন্ম লিভাকোভিচের। ছোট্ট থেকে খেলাধুলোয় তার অসম্ভব ভালবাসা। কিন্তু ফুটবল নয়, বাস্কেটবল আর ভলিবল। ড্যানিয়েলা লিখেছেন, দুটো খেলাই দারুণ খেলতেন দমিনিক। দাদু ছিলেন ডাক্তার, রেডিওলজিস্ট। তার সঙ্গে জাগ্রেবের একটি ফুটবল ক্লাবে মেন্টাল-কন্ডিশনিং কোচ। 

সেই ভজমিল তার নাতির মধ্যে তৈরি করেন ফুটবল-প্রেম। তখন স্কুলে পড়ছেন দমিনিক। পড়াশুনোর ধারে কাছে যাওয়ার ব্যাপার নেই! প্রায় সারাদিন ঘরেই চলছে ফুটবল নিয়ে খেলা আর দাদুর সৌজন্যে তিন কিংবদন্তি গোলকিপার, ইকের ক্যাসিয়াস, দাভিদ দ্য হিয়া এবং জিয়ানলুইজি বুফনের ম্যাচের ভিডিও দেখা। যে কারণে এই তিন গোলকিপার পরবর্তীকালে দমিনিকের আদর্শ হয়েছেন। আর তার শৈশবের প্র্যাক্টিস? ডান পায়ে দেওয়ালে বল মেরে ফিরতি বলটা ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে ধরা! অজান্তেই, সহজাতভাবেই দমিনিক লিভাকোভিচের মধ্যে সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে ভবিষ্যতের এক তারকা গোলকিপারের! আর সেই প্র্যাক্টিসে ঘরে রাখা যাবতীয় জিনিস লণ্ডভণ্ড! বকাঝকার কেউ নেই। দাদু আর ঠাকুমার বাড়িতেই দমিনিক থাকতেন তার শৈশবে। ঘামে ভিজে যাওয়ার পর ক্লান্ত শরীরটা সোফায় এলিয়ে দেওয়ার পর শিশু দমিনিকের হাতে পিজা আর ফলের রস তুলে দিচ্ছেন দাদু। ভজমিল লিভাকোভিচ না থাকলে আজ বিশ্বফুটবল দমিনিক লিভাকোভিচকে হয়ত পেত না। পরবর্তীকালে জাদারের ক্লাব ফুটবলে দমিনিকের হাতেখড়ি হচ্ছে। দাদু তখন কিছুটা অসুস্থ। তাতেও উৎসাহে খামতি নেই। প্রত্যেকদিন ভোরে নাতির সঙ্গে উঠে দাদুও যাছেন মাঠে! নাতির প্র্যাক্টিস দেখতে। অবশ্য, ঠাকুমা, বাবা যিনি ছিলেন ক্রোয়েশিয়ার একজন সফল রাজনীতিবিদ ও পেশায় কন্সট্রাকশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার বা শিক্ষিকা মা-প্রত্যেকেই দমিনিককে অফুরান উৎসাহ দিয়ে গিয়েছেন।

না কোনওরকমে স্কুলের পাঠ শেষ করে আর পড়াশুনোই করলেন না ২৭ বছরের এই গোলকিপার! সম্পূর্ণ সমর্থন করে গিয়েছে তার পরিবার। কারণ আছে। ততদিনে দমিনিকের ফুটবলের যাত্রা শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে। ২০১২-তে ক্রোয়েশিয়ার অন্যতম সেরা ক্লাব এনকে জাগ্রেবে সই করেছেন। তারপর ক্রোয়েশিয়ার জাতীয় যুব দলেও জায়গা হয়ে গিয়েছে তার।

শয্যাশায়ী দাদু, ভজমিল লিভাকোভিচের মুখে তখন নিশ্চয়ই এক অপরিসীম তৃপ্তি লেগে থাকত। হয়ত বিড়বিড় করে বলতেন, "লেখা আমি শুরু করে দিয়েছি। ইতিহাসের বাকিটা নাতি লিখে নেবে!" 

The club's mission to produce climbers from remote stopped due to a financial crunch

Narkeldanga Trekkers Association (NTA) is one of the prominent mountaineering clubs in West Bengal. The club has another interesting achievement. So far, it is the only mountaineering organization from West Bengal that drove itself toward a noble mission to explore talent in rock climbing and produce quality mountaineers from a district that is termed the most backward among all 23 districts in Bengal. It is Purulia. NTA which has built up Swami Vivekananda Adventure Institute, Mathaburu Hills, Purulia was founded by two climbers, Pijush Sinha and Jyotsna Seth in 2008. Seth has achieved the feat of reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest. But after 2017, due to dire financial distress, it has not been possible for NTA to organize expeditions.

The Achievements despite the Odds

NTA has already organized nearly 14 expeditions and all of those voyages were headed toward more than 7000 meters altitude from sea level. Apart from Jyotsna Seth's expedition to Mt Everest where she had to return from Everest base camp, NTA drew the attention of the media when one of its climbers, the youngest one, Anushka Sinha, aged only 10 years completed Mt. Satopanth expeditions successfully. Pijush Sinha revealed, "Anushka completed the Mt Satopanth expedition successfully in 2017 and it was the last year NTA organized an expedition."

This apart, NTA has organized several basic and advanced courses on rock climbing in Purulia since it began its journey in the Purulia district in 2015.

Subhojit Bannerjee is one of the prominent students of NTA. He completed the basic and advanced courses at Mathaburu hills under the guidance of Pijush Sinha in 2017. Subhojit informed, "First we learned the bouldering method of climbing on the comparatively short-heightened rocks. Then in the advanced course, I climbed on the high peaks in the Mathaburu hills regions, Kardaburu, and Chemtuburu. All were around 700 meters high from the sea level. We learned pitch-climbing in an advanced course." 

Subhojit then earned an instructor's course also and in 2018 he had gone to Sundarban and Hoogly on behalf of NTA as the instructor, completing the course on adventure sports with the young boys. Subhojit who is likely to join West Bengal Police also dreams of going on big expeditions. He said, "I also have dream of going on an Everest expedition as Jyotsna Seth had made. I also had the desire to acquire an instructor's certificate from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) and I know the HMI certificate will make your career in mountaineering. But how can I spend nearly Rs 20 thousand to complete the course? But once I get a job, I will try to fulfill dreams of venturing big expeditions in the Himalayas." 

Subhojit and his friend have already organized basic climbing courses in Purulia. Last year, they organized at Joychandi Paha. Subhojit added, "There are many talented boys and girls who want to become successful climbers in the future. We observed when a basic-climbing course was being organized at the Joychandi Pahar. But mountaineering needs a formidable amount of money and as there is no financial support from any quarter of society, the scenario is so gloomy. The tragic result is that those talented boys and girls, after finishing the basic-climbing courses at Joychandi Pahar are back again to their school life. Somebody has already left Purulia for other states to do a job. Lack of financial support for mountaineering has been the key reason we have not been able to bring out quality mountaineers from Purulia. Still, we have not given up." 

The Financial Crunch

Pijush Sinha lamented that despite having made repeated appeals to different quarters of society including the government, NTA has not received financial grants for mountaineering. The money the state government had given to Jyotsna before her Everest expedition was available after a lot of hard work. Pijush revealed, "I had to run from pillar to post to convince the bureaucrats and finally they sanctioned the money. This apart we have never received any financial assistance for our expeditions. Along with rock climbing, we also got an opportunity to organize seminars on Life-Skill Development Training programs a couple of times. Nehru Yuva Kendra Kolkata and its branch in Purulia, a central government organization supported us financially at the time of these programs. Otherwise, in our last expedition in 2017, I had to borrow more than Rs 1 lakh personally to materialize the Mt Satopanth expedition." 

The Fight Goes On

NTA has not given up. Despite the acute financial crises Pijush Sinha divulged NTA has plans to organize basic-climbing courses in Purulia early next year and explore talent scouting programs. Pijush still desires to engrave the name of NTA in the field of Bengal mountaineering by producing at least one top-quality mountaineer from Purulia.

সম্প্রতি "ইতি memories" -এর দ্বিতীয় পোষ্টার রিলিজ হয়েছে। শীতের মরসুমে যেমন গোয়েন্দা গল্পের তুলনা হয়না , তার সঙ্গে এরকম একটি মিষ্টি প্রেমের গল্প এক অন্য মাত্রা এনে দেয়। সমদর্শী দত্ত-এর পরিচালনায় ক্লিকের ওটিটি প্লাটফর্মে চলতি বছরের শেষে মুক্তি পেতে চলেছে এক অন্য স্বাদের ওয়েব সিরিজ "ইতি memories"। 

ছবির পরিচালক সমদর্শী সেনের Bongjournal - এর সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গিয়ে জানান গল্পটি বেশ অনেকদিন ধরেই  মাথায় ছিল । কিন্তু সময়ের অভাবে ছবিটি বানানোর সুযোগ হয়ে ওঠেনি। তিনি জানিয়েছেন সিরিজটির বেশিরভাগ শ্যুটিং হয়েছে রাস্তাঘাটে। গ্রীষ্মের রোদে যেসব লোকেশনে শ্যুটিং হয়েছে সেখানকার মানুষ খুব সাহায্য করেছে, যা পরিচালকের খুবই  ভালো লেগেছে। বলাই যায় পুরো শ্যুটিং-এর জার্নিটাই পরিচালকের কাছে "মেমোরেবল" হয়ে থাকবে

এই সিরিজের মুখ্য  চরিত্রে দেখা যাবে অভিনেতা সৌম্য মুখোপাধ্যায় ও অভিনেত্রী তনিকা বসুকে। এই সিরিজে তাদের চরিত্রের নাম মল্লার ও আহেরী। এই ওয়েব সিরিজে ভালোবাসার টানে এক প্রবাসী বাঙালির শতাধিক প্রাচীন ঐতিহ্যের শহর কলকাতার ওলিগোলি চেনার গল্পকেই তুলে ধরেছেন পরিচালক। কথা ছিল আহেরী কলকাতাকে অন্যভাবে চেনাবে মল্লারকে। সেই কথা রাখতে মল্লারও এসেছিল সূদূর বিদেশ থেকে কলকাতায়। কিন্তু ভাগ্যের নির্মম পরিহাসে যেদিনই মল্লারের প্লেন কলকাতার মাটি স্পর্শ করল এক পথ দুর্ঘটনার আহেরীর মৃত্যু হল। কিন্তু তারপর মল্লার আহেরীর মত করে কলকাতাকে চেনার জার্নি শুরু করল। এই জার্নিতে মল্লারকে একাধিক ওঠা পড়ার মধ্য দিয়ে যেতে হয়েছে।

Mineiro believes Brazil is not only dependent on Neymar

Carlos Luciano Da Silva, popularly known as Mineiro acquired recognition precisely after his lone goal steered Sao Paolo FC to clinch the Fifa World Club Cup title defeating Yokohoma in the final in 2005. Otherwise, this defensive midfielder is not much discussed even after being included in the Brazilian World Cup squad in 2006. The reason behind the reality was that Mineiro could not get the opportunity to take part in a single match of the 2006 World Cup. 

Rather, his name came into more prominence in 2007 Copa America. Mineiro started in every match for Brazil, helping the country to win the tournament. The 48-year-old Brazilian World Cupper who has 24 matches for the senior national team said goodbye to international football in 2008, had continued playing for clubs in Germany before retiring from professional football from a fourth-tier German club TuS Koblenz in 2011. 

Coaching Career

Mineiro and his family shifted to Melbourne in 2020. By that time he acquired a UEFA-C license coaching degree during his 13-year stay in Germany. Still, he was not getting coaching assignments according to satisfaction. While talking over a Whatsapp call from Melbourne, the World Cupper remembered, "It was quite difficult to get a coaching job in Germany. On the contrary, I already visited Australia following an initiative of a Non-Government Organization when I was living in Germany and liked the atmosphere. So, in 2020 I did not hesitate to leave Germany for Melbourne. More importantly, following the worldwide attack of Covid-19 and the announcement of lockdown in many European countries also compelled me to leave Germany and finally settle in Melbourne."

Mineiro after having guided a premier women's team Essendon Royals to the national women's league as a chief coach there in Melbourne is now in charge of a lower division club Aintree FC and its academy Wood Lea. He said, "I want to share my experience as a footballer with the football fraternity in Australia so that it can help them to exhibit greater performance in the future."

Brazil and Qatar World Cup

Mineiro while commenting on Brazil's performance in the ongoing World Cup in Qatar explained, "The team has perfect preparation and balance. After watching them in the group league matches so far, I feel this team is not dependant fully on Neymar. More quality players in other positions can help the team to progress. Neymar will surely add more strength to the team in the knock-out phase. I will not be surprised at all if Brazil clinches its sixth World Cup title in Qatar." The inclusion of Dani Alvez and Thiago Silva in the squad created controversy initially mainly due to their ages. But Mineiro believes, "Their experience, precisely Thiago Silva's intelligence in the distribution of breaking passes will help the team to create scoring opportunities. So, both of them are still needed. The proper mixture of experiences and quality young footballers helps to maintain consistency." 

3 Films From Bengal Selected for JIFF Indian Panorama

 

It's a proud moment for the Bengali film fraternity as three movies from our region get selected in the National and International platform. Launch of torch campaign of Jaipur International Film Festival. JIFF Indian Panorama in Kolkata. This is India's biggest promotional campaign for cinema. Twelve regional films have been selected among which Homecoming, Mahishasur Mardini and Jhilli are from Bengal.

The aim of this campaign is to showcase the talent and potential of regional cinema and support upcoming filmmakers. So it's a great opportunity for all to come together and celebrate our cinema.

"Really glad that three among twelve movies from Bengal get selected. As many as such movies from Bengal will get selected in National and International platform, the more people will get to know about Bengali movies from all over the world ", as said by popular actor Saswata Chatterjee who played one of the protagonist in "Mahishasur Mardini" directed by Goutam Ghosh.

We live in a strange dichotomy in India about National cinema and regional cinema. Every cinema is regional cinema including Hindi cinema. Every film is regional film as well as National cinema and sometimes some region become International cinema. So that is very exciting for India that we make so many cinema in n regional language.  As said by renowned director Goutam Ghosh. He added that this torch campaign is to make people aware that great cinemas are born in region and then it become National and International.

Rugby India beats Nepal and aims for promotion to Division 2

Following a convincing 86-0 victory over Nepal at the Asia Rugby Division 3 - South Region competition, Rugby India is targeting promotion to Division 2. With a score of 86-0 this year on 19th November , the Indian National Men's Team defeated Nepal in the Asia Rugby Division 3 - South Region competition at the Rabindra Sarobar stadium in Kolkata.

First off, I'd like to congratulate the Indian team on their triumph. We appreciate Nepal's enthusiastic performance and look forward to seeing you again. Rugby's ethos is centred on collaboration. Sharing. Because a team cannot advance unless all of its members work together. The Asian Rugby Championships Div 3 (South) will be held at Rugby India as a result of this. it's a pleasure to host Bangladesh and Nepal in Kolkata in conjunction with Asia Rugby. We want to provide our guests a sense of value and respect. We continue to anticipate a thrilling competition that will be played in accordance with the greatest ideals of the rugby spirit,' stated Mr. Rahul Bose, President, Rugby India, at the tournament's opening ceremony.

The Indian men's squad, which today featured up to 17 players making their debuts, crushed Nepal in the opening match of their campaign under the leadership of Prince Khatri. The Asian Rugby Championships Div 3 (South) will be held at Rugby India as a result of this. This impressive start gives India impetus as they prepare to play Bangladesh on November 25th, 2022, in hopes of qualifying for the Asian Rugby Championship Division 3 playoffs, where one team will be promoted to Division 2. Teams like Kazakhstan and Iran will participate in the playoffs based on their respective regional qualifications.

"As rugby players representing India, we have been anticipating the return of 15s rugby in Asia. Three years later, the team is ecstatic not only to have played top-tier rugby but also with today's triumph over Nepal. We are also honoured to host Bangladesh and Nepal.  In the presence of the Indian and Nepali national teams, award-winning actress Raima Sen, and Mr. Rahul Bose, President of Rugby India, the tournament was officially opened. Gerald Prabhu, Honorary Secretary of Rugby India, also attended.

The Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU), which is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of the Government of India and is a full member of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), and World Rugby, is in charge of the expansion and development of the game of rugby throughout the nation.
