A Doctor's Enterprise to Acknowledge the achievers of Bengal turns year 17



Like every year 17th Pragati Bangla Utsav  was celebrated on 3rd March at Dr Triguna Sen Auditorium in Jadavpur University with great vigour. Prominent figures in different fields of society had been awarded with 'Sera Bangali', Bongo Gaurav award, and Mahatma Gandhi Peace award. "Dui Bangla Moitri utsav" was also encouraged by Pragati Bangla where 15 successful figures from Bangladesh were awarded. 





The founder of Pragati Bangla  Dr Arijit kr Neogy said being a doctor "when I first started Progoti Bangla it was only about doctors and those who belong to the medical field. But I always wanted the contribution of Bengalis in different fields throughout the world to come to light. And that's how Pragati Bangla Utsav started and stepped into seventeen years with success.This year we are acknowledging about 150 prominent figures from varied professions".







The event was studded with eminent and successful personalities like Barrister Promit Roy, owner of K.C. Das Dhiman Das, doctor Southik Panda, Para Asian Game Champion Prabir Sarkar, vocalist Shubhra Guho,TV personality Lajbonti Roy, Pandit Mallar Ghosh, Lt. Dr Biva Samaddar, actor Shruti Das, Vivek Trivedi to name a few of the glitterati.




The event was set ablaze by the fashion parades representing the ethnic Bengali tradition and culture. The fashion parade was augmented with notable personalities like Para Asian Game Champion Prabir Sarkar, owner of Priya cinema hall Arijit Dutta and actor Rizwan Rabbani. The event had the essence of a get together of the familiar faces from the bengali community.
