Yoga for healthy living : An insightful approach towards healthy lifestyle

"There is a saying that Yoga is the gateway of happiness that body needs in daily life"

On the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day, Nephrocare India organized a session named "Yoga For Healthy Living" to offer a holistic approach towards a healthy lifestyle with a proper understanding of Yoga.

Yoga prevents many chronic diseases and is a blessing to mankind. It is the best gift that one can offer to one's own self. Yoga does not change the way we see things; rather it transforms the one who sees.

The event was attended by: Dr. Pratim Sengupta, MD, Internal Medicine and DM, Nephrology as the Mentor; Mr. Subhabrata Bhattacharya, Founder & Director, Mantra Lifestyle Health Club; Mr. Ashish Mittal, Director, Golden Tulip Hotel and several eminent personalities.

The sessions included Dhauti Kriya, Anga Mardana, Surya Namaskar, Meditation, Om Chanting and Pranayam. Hatha Yoga, Trataka and Mauna was also practised at the programme.

Mr. Subhabrata Bhattacharya, Founder & Director, Mantra Lifestyle Health Club said, “Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centers attention; and sharpens concentration. Yoga's incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person's mental well-being. Yoga is the golden key to good health and good health is the real wealth."

Mentor of the event, Dr. Pratim Sengupta said, "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being. Let us work towards adopting Yoga in our daily lives."

Mr. Ashish Mittal, Director, Golden Tulip Hotel shared his view, saying "You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside. Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self."

The event was organized in collaboration with Mantra and powered by Map5 Events. It was attended by more than 100 participants at Golden Tulip Hotel, Saltlake, Kolkata.
