Bengal Rising: Minister Dinda Courts India's Foundry Leaders at IIF National Conclave

Special Correspondant ,Kolkata: The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) convened its 5th National Council (NC) Meeting and Industry Leadership in Kolkata recently. The event witnessed the presence of IIF Industry Stalwarts and Members across India including its National Office Bearers -President Sushil Sharma from Nagpur, Vice-President Vikram Jain from Jaipur, Hon. Secretary Prayut Bhamawat from Vadodara, Hon. Treasurer S Muthukumar from Coimbatore and Imm Past President Navneet Agarwal from Kolkata.

Founded in 1950, The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) stands as the apex body and only PAN India association of India's foundry industry having its Headquarters in Kolkata. The evening was privileged by the presence of Ashok Dinda, Minister of State for the Department of Agricultural Marketing and the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, as the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest, Ashok Dinda, delivered a special address on the “Resurgence of MSMEs in Bengal.” He emphasized on promoting robust industrial growth in West Bengal, to make it number one and rooted for one window clearance for MSME units. The Minister also expressed keen interest in visiting foundries and promised a strongly industry friendly environment for potential investors across India.

Indian Fighter Ashish Darji Wins Silver at Asian Open Cup 2026 in Armenia

BongJournal : India has earned another proud moment on the international martial arts stage as Senpai Ashish Darji of IKO Kyokushinkaikan India secured the second position at the Asian Open Cup 2026, held in Armenia.

Representing India in one of the most challenging full-contact karate tournaments, Ashish Darji displayed remarkable courage, determination, and fighting spirit throughout the competition. Despite being the smallest fighter among all participants in the tournament, he impressed judges, competitors, and officials with his fearless performance and resilience.

Reacting to the achievement, Branch Chief IKO Kisholaya Majumder expressed immense pride in his student. In a social media post, he stated that senior fighters and branch chiefs from different countries highly appreciated Ashish's performance. He described the silver medal as an exceptional accomplishment, noting that earning a trophy in an international full-contact tournament organized by IKO Kyokushinkaikan is a feat achieved by only a select few athletes.

Ashish Darji's ,  success reflects years of disciplined training, hard work, and dedication. According to his coaches and teammates, the achievement is the result of relentless daily practice and an unwavering commitment to the sport. This victory marks a significant milestone in Ashish Darji's martial arts journey and adds another chapter to India's growing success in international Kyokushin Karate competitions.
