Why do we need to have facial? If I ask this question I am sure, to get pile of answers on its benefits. But how many of us know about different types of facial done in the salon and about its function. When we visit salon we get skin experts to guide us. But most of us are ignorant about its benefits or whether my skin really needs that particular type of facials. Suppose pearl facial works good on my friend’s skin. But it doesn’t mean the same facial will do its best to my skin. Different facials have different functions. If you want facial to reduce wrinkle then of course aromatherapy facial is not the one for you. Recently I met a skin expert from woman world beauty salon who gave me a little bit idea regarding this, which I am going to share with you.

Type of Facials

1) Normal Facial

Normal facial includes cleansing, then toning and lastly massaging which is done with different strokes as well as pressure.


It slows down ageing by improving blood circulation and helps in relaxation.

2) Aromatherapy Facial

In this type of facial, massage is done with essential oil which contains herbal extract.


Its reduce stress by relaxing the nerves.

3) Diamond Facial

If you really want to hold on your eternal beauty forever then diamond facial is the one for you


It helps to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

4) Pearl Facial

Usually massage is done by pearl cream and then mask is applied.


After the facial you will get an even skin tone and if you have a dry skin then it will help to retain moisture in your skin.

5) Gold Facial

This facial has a great reviving and revitalizing effect. The gold cream gets absorbed quickly in the skin and play an important role in removing toxin and stimulating blood circulation.

Style In Palazzo Even If You Have An Average Height

Palazzo, call it a hot fashion or passe, but in trend today without any doubt. I had a little doubt whether it will look good on me as I have a short height. So I dared to add palazzo in my wardrobe. However, at last I garnered up some courage to try palazzo but in my own fashion.
You know that I always keep on shouting that I am not a fashion freak. I always like to hit the fashion in my own way ( you may call it stale or style) . This time I tried this cotton printed palazzo with black and cream combination.

If you have a short height don't hesitate to wear palazzo pants. But you have to be a little tricky while trying this fashion.

  • Choose the right size.
  • Straight palazzo will look good on short height. But you can also go for flowy one. In that case shoes with heel is must.
  • Tuck your top inside the palazzo pants.
  • Never layer too much. It can make you look more dumpy.
  • Avoid long Kurta on palazzo
  • Wear solid color top.

Posto Begun From Mom's Kitchen : All Time Favorite Of Bongs

Generally I don’t like brinjal preparation much.  But when it comes to Posto Begun is one of the favorite Bengali dish which I just can’t avoid. But this time I didn’t wait for my mom to cook the dish for me. I just took the recipe and try to prepare the dish for the first time. Believe me, it really rocks at the lunch table.


  • Begun (brinjal) – 500 gm
  • Posto (poppy seed) – 50gm
  • Plain curd – 100gm
  • Green chili – 6
  • Turmeric – Less than ½ tea spoon
  • Mustard Oil – 100gm
  • Salt – As required
  • Pinch of sugar

Serve : 4


Slice brinjals into pieces. Then make a paste of posto, and green chilies. Mix them well with plain curd to make a thick paste and add turmeric to it.


Pour mustered oil in a frying pan and start frying sliced brinjals till it become soft and the color turns to light golden brown. Remember, you have to shallow fry the brinjal. Then add the thick paste of posto, plain curd and green chilies with the shallow fried bringal. Stir it for 1 minute at low flame. Then put the flame high and add water (half cup). Add salt as required and sugar. Cook until it comes into a gravy form. Serve hot with rice or roti.

It is always true that "effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference." Now the question is how many of us work smartly, instead of working hard? The thing is that most of us use our time working hard in office. And at the end of the day we mourn of not getting enough as we expected. Actually our sense of hard work is if it eventually makes us really fatigued. However, like a hard sum to solve in school, a hard task should be approached, not only counting our efforts but how smartly we do it.

So next time think smartly before you execute your work. Experts say Work Smarter, Not Harder. Here are some tips of experts which I have jotted down for you.

Pen down Your Work                                                   

Make a list of your work according to the priority. Then break the work in little slots and try to complete it within the time slot.

Divide and Rule

If you have loads of work then don’t try to complete it alone. Adopt divide and rule policy guys. Distribute your work among others and then keep monitoring it. In this way you can meet your deadline. Teamwork and Synergy often makes working hard a most pleasurable experience.

Answer E-mail First

Answer those mails as soon as possible when it arrives from your boss or colleagues. Sometimes we get so submerge in our work that we often neglect those e-mail. We think to answer after completing our work. But at the end of the day we either miss or forget to answer those e-mails which may lead you to an embarrassing situation.

Think Differently

If a task is not done then we work hard on it. We repeatedly try it in the same way. If you wanted to be a smart worker then think differently. Never repeat the same process. Try to complete the task in different way. A smart worker always learns from his/ her previous mistakes. Innovation is a key component of a smart worker. 

Have Patience

Office is a place where you have to come across people with different personality and different attitude. You may not like them all. But you have to be patient with them. Don’t express your exasperation immediately.

Break Is Important

According to expertise it is very important to take a break in between work. The idea of taking break will help to focus more on your work. But don’t take it every 5 minutes just for surfing social networking sites. Don’t waste your office time on online shopping or personal affairs more often. It can create a mental distraction and a sends wrong signals to those who takes job seriously at workplace.

5 Beauty Routine You Must Follow In Winter

Winter is the season when we have to take extra care of our skin. During winter I strictly follow these beauty regimens which I am going to share with you.

No More Hot Baths

Avoid hot baths. Instead of high temperature water I like to take bath in lukewarm water. Too much hot water actually leaves your skin dry.

Avoid Dead Cell

Don’t forget to exfoliate your skin. Applying moisturizing is must during winter. But if you want the moisturizer to absorb in your skin then exfoliation is important. I generally use to buy good scrubber from cosmetic shops. I exfoliate my skin thrice a week.

Pamper Your Skin

Pamper your skin with regular oil massage. Just before taking a bath massaging body oil is vital. It helps to retain moisture in my skin for a long period of time.

Smooth Lips

Chapped lips may damage your attire. No matter how well you dress up or how well you make-up. Crack, chapped lips can pour water in it. So I don’t forget to apply lip balm or Vaseline on my lips. I generally use lip balm with vitamin E. It helps to reduce darkening of lips that  often causes due to sunburn or dryness.

Don’t Forget sunscreen Lotion

During winter, skin remains more sensitive. So there is more chance of skin damaging due to ultra violate rays. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen lotion whenever you step out.

Stress at workplace has now become a common phrase. Stress is good as long as it is in limits. Excessive stress not only influences professional life but it also affects our personal life.

Recently I met one of my friends, who so stressed out at his workplace that he made his personal life a hell. He got married for just two years only and now his married life has come to an end. Sounds odd? But it is true. When I met his wife who is also a friend of mine told me that he used to remain so stressed that he started to torture her emotionally. Due to the hectic schedule of corporate life he used to drench out all his frustration on his wife.

I repeat, stress is good as long as it is in the comfort zone. More than that it can lead to depression, fatigue, loosing concentration, irritation and many more such syndromes follow. While working as a journalist in a daily newspaper I had to maintain a tough schedule. So I adopted few tricks to remain hassle free. Here are some tips for you, as it works for me.

Move Your Body

No matter how busy you are. Take out at least 30 minutes for exercise. Start your day with little bit workout (may be just free hand exercise, walking). It helps to increase your energy. Also walking (cardio vascular exercises) helps in concentration and you can also relax physically and mentally.

Be Positive, Increase Self-Belief

It is very important to keep a positive attitude in office. Slash down all the negative thoughts like, “can I complete the project”, “can I meet the target” etc. Never doubt yourself. Just keep in mind that you can do it. Positive thought will help you to increase your confidence.  

Work for Yourself

Never work to impress your boss. The pressure of impressing boss will leave you nowhere. Work for yourself so that you can learn something. It will later help you in your life. Just love your work. Try to bring some innovation in your work so that you never get bored.

Take a Break

Yes, it is important to take a short break in between your work. Close your eyes and stretch your arms and legs in between your work. In between you can also text sweet message to beloved one. This short break actually helps you to focus in your work.

Positive Relation

Maintain positive relation with other staff. Lunch time at office is a good opportunity to build friendship with others. Share your meal as well as your thoughts with your colleagues. Try to help them in their crisis period. Supportive and caring friends are very important to curb down stress at workplace. If you support them at their emergency then they will definitely stand by you.

Good Planning

If you are pissing off with a large project then break it and complete it step by step. Good planning is vital before you progress with your work. Arrange your work according to priority.

Eat Well, Sleep Well

Avoid too much oily food or junk food. Don’t forget to keep fruits salad in your diet. Even if you have a shifting duty, set your timing in such a way so that you can have at least seven hours for sound sleep.

A big NO to my new Sno-tex Almond and Milk cold cream

In this winter I wanted to try some new cold cream other than my regular one. And I got Sno-tex Almond & Milk Cold cream. It is new for me so I go for the small (20 ml) pack. Before trying any new product I generally buy the sample pack first. And if I get satisfactory result then only I go for the large pack. So this time also I decided to buy the small one.


Sno-tex Almond & Milk Cold cream comes in a cute plastic orange jar. It opens easily and very handy.


Almond, Milk, Vitamin E with Sunscreen


I had a disappointing experience with Sno-tex Almond & Milk Cold cream. It smells sweet when I open the jar. It demands to protect dry skin in cold and to retain moisture making it soft. But I hardly find any difference in my skin. It does not easily blend with my skin. After applying the cream my face looks darker.


  • I hate the greasy texture of the cream.
  • After applying the cream I feel a thick layer on my face.
  • Skin looks dull.


I will never use it again.

I never like to put loads of make-up on my face. But when it comes to foundation I am very particular about it. We all know that foundation is one of the essential parts of make-up. It is the trickiest way to cover our delicate skin's flaws and imperfections. So how can one compromise with the selection of good foundation? I always hunt for a foundation that will give me a fresh and young look. So my quest for a good foundation came to an end when I get acquainted with Revlon Touch & Glow Moisturizing Make-up.

It comes in smart attire which is very handy. It can be easily carried in make up kit.

My Experience

In one word it is just an awesome product. It gives me a glam and fresh look. It blends well on my face as it is very light. As I have a dry skin I have to be very careful while choosing foundation. I always like to go for the one that retain moisture on my skin and it really capable of maintaining moisture on my skin. It is light in texture so it does not clog pores and thus perfect for daily wear. Another good things about the foundation is that you need very little amount and doesn’t easily melts even if you sweat a little.

What I Don’t Like

It smells like some cheap hair oil which I really don’t like.

Green Moong Pakora : From My Mom’s Kitchen

Since my childhood Green Moong Pakora is one of my favorite snacks. Actually I didn’t like Dal (pulse) so much so my mom used to prepare these yummy, spicy, simple snacks of green moong so that I got the cereal nutrition along with a wholesome appetizer. 

Even today when after my delivery doctor advised me to take iron and protein in my diet my mom prepared me the snack and I really became nostalgic. Thanks to my mom for the recipe, hope I can do the same if my little princess also finds pulses not that savory.

  • Green Moong (gram) – 250gm
  • Fresh Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
  • Green chilies - 4/5
  • Garlic – 3 bulbs
  • Salt as required
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Mustard/white Oil for deep fry

Let the green gram soak in water for the whole night. Next day make a thick paste of green gram, green chilies, coriander leaves and garlic in mixer grinder. Add sugar and salt to taste in the paste.
Put the frying pan on the burner. Pour oil in the frying pan and heat it. Make few flattened balls with the batter and deep fry. Serve hot with your favorite sauce.

Garnish with coriander leaves and green chilly. You can add tomato sauce or coriander sauce.

  • Green gram helps in reducing bad cholesterol.
